Laura has appeared on Broadway in several critically acclaimed and innovative productions including the Lincoln Center revival of South Pacific, The Light in the Piazza, Oklahoma!, and Sweet Smell of Success. She toured the country in The Light in the Piazza directed by Tony Award winner, Bartlett Sher, and she was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for her performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. In Europe, she has sung the role of Maria in West Side Story at prominent opera houses such as the Deutsche Opera in Berlin and the Alte Opera in Frankfurt.
A native of Southern California, she has performed in all three venues at the Los Angeles Music Center (Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, and Dorothy Chandler Pavilion). Los Angeles audiences may remember her from The Light in the Piazza at the Ahmanson where she played Italian spitfire, Franca Naccarelli. She was recently seen in Jason Robert Brown, Alfred Uhry, and Rob Ashford's new production of Parade at the Mark Taper. She has collaborated several times with Jason Robert Brown including a special performance of Songs For a New World with Alice Ripley, Brian D'Arcy James, and Tituss Burgess.
Laura is now based in Seattle where she has appeared in numerous productions over the years at the 5th Avenue Theatre including Spamalot, A Room With A View, The Music Man, Candide, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Rocky Horror Show, A Little Night Music, and The Secret Garden. Her other regional work has included roles at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Goodspeed Opera House, Sacramento Music Circus, Music Theatre of Wichita, Geva Theatre, Pioneer Theatre, La Mirada Theatre, and Music Theatre West.
Laura can be heard on the original Broadway cast recordings of South Pacific, The Light in the Piazza, and Sweet Smell of Success as well Jason Robert Brown’s album, Wearing Someone Else's Clothes. In New York City, she has sung in concerts at City Center Encores, Joe's Pub, Birdland, Cooper Union, New York Historical Society, and The Cathedral Church of St John the Divine. She has also sung in St. Petersburg, Russia with other Broadway performers led by Tony Award winner, Ted Sperling as part of a cultural exchange.
Laura grew up in Southern California where she won the Spotlight Award for voice at the Los Angeles Music Center/ Dorothy Chandler Pavilion when she was in high school. She studied theatre at the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan and opera at the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado. She then moved to New York City where she attended Columbia University and earned her Bachelor of Arts in music.
